On May 20th, 2023, the Bonde, Hall, Humphrey family experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Josh, Becky, Keira, and Nola were on their way to celebrate a family member's 5th grade promotion when a devastating car accident occurred. A driver collided head-on with their car while driving in the wrong lane. Tragically, their beloved 10-year-old Nola Belle, a cheerleader and a beacon of love and kindness, lost her life in this horrific incident.

The trauma teams at UMC airlifted Josh, Becky, and Keira to safety, working tirelessly to save their lives. Josh endured a shattered ankle, emergency surgery for abdominal trauma, as well as fractures in his back and ribs. Keira, who just regained consciousness on Friday, the 26th, underwent surgery to repair her abdominal injuries. She is currently in the PICU. Becky woke up on Thursday, May 25th, only to learn about the accident and the devastating loss of Nola. She suffered a shattered right knee and femur, a broken left foot, a fused broken back (L4-S1), a broken sternum, a weakened neck, and required surgery to repair abdominal and intestinal trauma. Both physically and emotionally, the family faces an arduous path as they recover from their severe injuries and the heartbreak of losing Nola.
